Rachel Garner, LCSW-S

Hi, I’m Rachel Garner, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S) with 12+ years of experience as a Social Worker. After earning my Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii, I began my career working with families with young children impacted by addiction.

I’m relentlessly hopeful and believe that with the right support there’s always room for change and growth.

With a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Systems Theory, and Motivational Interviewing, I use various interventions to support individuals in their mental health & wellness goals.

Whether one feels stuck, unmotivated or lost, therapy can help identify a roadmap to change.

I’ve worked in residential and outpatient settings, both as a therapist and an administrator, and have a wide range of experience, but specialize in treating substance use and misuse, family stressors, and pregnancy/postpartum-related mental health challenges. My passion is supporting individuals and families to capitalize on their existing strengths and resources to achieve their goals. I have been trained in various parenting models, and incorporate components of child development, attachment models, and parenting education into my work with families and parents.

I also specialize in working with professionals. As a former CEO of a healthcare facility, I understand the challenges of work-life balance, particularly with high-powered and successful individuals. My work with professionals identifies the skills that lead to success in the workplace, and how those skills can be utilized to create more satisfying home and personal lives.

I’m currently accepting new clients and offer individual, couples, and family therapy both in person and via telehealth. In-person sessions are available for individuals and families who are Covid-19 vaccinated. Evening and weekend appointments are available on a limited basis.
