Nell McKnight

Hello, I’m Nell. After a fruitful career as a luxury fashion retail buyer, I moved into the mental health field. This move was prompted by my own recovery and the inspiring feeling of working with other women in 12-Step programming. I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor finishing up interning hours and a Marriage and Family Therapist Graduate Student in practicum. I specialize in the treatment of Substance Abuse Disorders and Co-Occurring Disorders, grounded in Attachment Based Theory and Systems Theory.

Additionally, I offer EMDR (Attachment-Focused) and Motivational Interviewing. As a recovery coach I am compassionate, encouraging, and direct, with a genuine desire to help individuals meet their goals and realize secure relationships with themselves and others.

I combine education, creativity, and a sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach. I work with individuals to address underlying issues without judgment or shame, so that they may heal from parts of the self that are no longer serving them.

I feel all individuals are capable of their own healing by accessing their innate sense of self and lived experience.

Recovery is possible…
and even fun!

My spirited approach motivates individuals to embrace their upward spiral and reclaim joy in their lives.

Non-discrimination policy: I am dedicated to ever-increasing my knowledge on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, sexual practices, age, religion, spirituality, and people who are physically different than me as part of my ongoing effort to keep myself educated and informed. I do this in order to provide the highest level of ethical care in supporting my clients and community. My current and future efforts will continue to reflect my dedication and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with respect and compassion for every human being that I am honored to support.
