“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”
— Helen Keller

Hello! I’m Leslie.
Before entering the treatment field, I owned and operated a wedding venue for 12 years. What I came to realize during that time was that my favorite part of the job wasn’t the events themselves, it was connecting with people. I loved listening to their stories, helping them navigate conflict, and being present for the emotions and family dynamics that inevitably came up in such meaningful moments. As someone in recovery myself, I felt called to take that passion further, and in 2020 I returned to school to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I had previously earned my B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University in 2006, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of working as a primary clinician in two residential treatment centers before joining the team at Stanford Psychological Services.
My clinical style is both heart-centered and practical. I bring big energy and genuine passion into my work, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and MBT while also weaving in neuroscience so clients not only learn skills, but also understand what’s happening in their brain and body when they practice them. I care deeply about the people I work with, and I bring my whole self into the room. I can sit with pain, but also laugh at the little absurdities of life. I will challenge you when you need it, but I will also be goofy, warm, and authentic. Above all, I want you to feel safe, seen, and supported as you uncover not only the behaviors that hold you back, but also the deeper “why” that drives them.
Outside of the therapy space, I’m a wife, mother, and person in recovery. I’m also an animal lover and lifelong learner, with a passion for staying current on the newest research in neurobiology and psychology. At my core, I believe healing happens in relationship, with self and with others, and it is my greatest joy to walk alongside people as they step into growth, freedom, and a more authentic life.
