"I beg you to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves."
— Rainer Maria Rilke
Hi, I’m Andrea.
I have always been curious about people, relationships, and how we make sense of our lives and move toward greater fulfillment.
I majored in Religious Studies in college, where an early interest in Eastern philosophies introduced me to mindfulness, which I have continued to explore throughout my life.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the natural supplement industry and as a holistic health coach. That background continues to inform the whole-person perspective I bring to my work.
My style is warm, relational, and collaborative. I’ve been told I’m direct, grounded, and perceptive with clients. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, grief, parenting, infertility, adoption, relationship difficulties, shame and self-criticism, life transitions, family-of-origin dynamics, career pressures, and relationships impacted by addiction.
My approach is integrative and tailored to each client. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a significant influence, helping clients approach the different parts of themselves with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. I draw from mindfulness, attachment theory, CBT, and DBT when helpful.
I’m especially drawn to couples’ work. When couples become caught in the same conflict or feel distant, I help them understand the cycle that keeps them stuck. Informed by EFT, attachment-based approaches, and Relational Life Therapy, I help couples communicate more honestly and work toward greater connection and intimacy.
I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship. I want therapy to feel collaborative, human, and nonjudgmental; a space where you can show up honestly and feel accepted as you are. I bring warmth, humor, and curiosity into the room while also challenging clients to recognize and shift unhelpful patterns.
I’m originally from New York and have called Austin home since 2009. I live with my husband, our two boys, and two dogs.
