“What frightens and dismays us is not external events themselves, but how we think about them. It is not things that disturb us, but our interpretation of their significance.” — Epictetus

Hi, I’m Andrew, better known as “Drew”. I’m a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC-I), Certified Trauma Informed Counselor (CTIC), and a CSAT Candidate (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist).
I knew I wanted to work in mental health and addiction treatment when my own recovery began to reshape my life. I discovered that with hard work and support, it was possible to change the way I interacted with the world, to see life as full of opportunity and joy, and to attach meaning and purpose to heartache, misery, and pain. That transformation made me realize that if I could experience it, others could too, and I wanted to be part of that process.
Today, I work with adults who are struggling with substance use, compulsive behaviors, anxiety, and depression. Whether it is alcohol, drugs, pornography, sex addiction, or other process addictions, I help people find freedom and build a life anchored in meaning, values, and connection.
I draw from evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). These approaches allow clients to step out of shame, understand their inner world, and learn how to live in alignment with their deepest values.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent twenty years working in sports medicine as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the NFL, XFL, and Division I football. That work taught me the importance of guiding people through pain and major life transitions. These skills remain central to the way I support clients in recovery.
I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC I) in Texas, a Certified Trauma Informed Coach (CTIC), and a CSAT Candidate (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist). I am completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have advanced training in Ketamine Assisted Therapy through Skylight Psychedelics.
Clients often describe me as genuine, steady, and approachable. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, consistent, and real. My own recovery continues to fuel my commitment to this work, and I am passionate about helping others discover that healing is possible and that life in recovery can bring peace, confidence, joy, and freedom.
